She slowly
knelt on the altar... she who just a few short
weeks ago thought she had all the answers... now
realized she had none. No answers to the grief
that surrounded her as the night without a star...

She stayed there for the longest time... telling
Him all about her life... the hurt and agony it
held. How she had been so wrong...so many times.
And her tears fell on the altar as the angel
stayed close beside...

And then gently she stood up and looked up into
the most beautiful eyes... blue... as
aquamarine... but still they were beyond that...
Almost like shimmering crystal... yet brighter
than that...

And then she saw through the eyes into the very
heights of heaven... wonderful things ...flowers
of such magnificence she could not describe
them... yet she could see through them... into
mountains and rivers that were beyond beauty...
crystal seas...

But there was something else in those eyes...
there was a love that she had only heard about...
unconditional love. And there was no end to that
love...it went on forever... this love... it had
no beginning... it simply was and she knew that it
had always been there... this love.

She looked up to behold Him but the light around
Him was far too bright... and around that light
there were halos of light that danced upon the
walls of the chapel...
"Are you, God?", she asked with trembling words.

And then a voice that sounded like many waters...
eloquent beyond anything she had heard on earth
spoke with so much love...

"My Child,
I see your tears... and I have felt your pain. I
felt that pain a long time ago... on a hillside
called Calvary. I have allowed you to look into my
eyes for in doing so... you have seen just a
glimpse of what I am preparing for you. And the
tears that you have shed... have washed your eyes
so that you could see to the depths of love... the
love I have for you.

You have looked into my eyes many times as you
have gone about your work. For you see, my
child... my eyes are always upon you. Watching out
for you... being there for you... loving you
through it all.

Whenever you feel alone... just remember my eyes
are upon you... and therein is love.
Look upon my other children with love and
understanding so that when they look into your
eyes, they will see a glimpse of ME.
Just as earthly fathers give their children
traits... such as hair color, eye color... I give
you the love in my eyes ...

Never doubt that... you have your Father's eyes.
And they are eyes of love. Eyes of hope... and
eyes that shall behold all the glories I am
preparing for all my children.
Walk on, my child... and believe... and remember
My eyes are upon you and they are full of love for
you."

She walked out to the chapel and back into life...
but there was something different about her...for
she had looked into the eyes of her Father... and
found love. She could not ask for more.

"I pray to live my life so that when others look
at me... in my eyes they will catch a glimpse of
Him... and of His love eternally.
I am thankful I have my Father's eyes. "
