FOOTPRINTS OF 9-11
Making an appearance suddenly,
They came out of the sky.
Sent from hell on a deadly mission,
To disrupt our way of life.

Early on the morn of 9-11,
The first footprint was made.
Others would follow soon thereafter,
Cutting through us like a blade.
The next footprint was made next door,
I've never known such grief.

It's happening upon our soil,
It's challenging my belief.
The next occurred just a few miles south,
They were aiming for the heart.

Describing themselves as martyrs,
Aware of playing their part.
All the arteries had now been touched,
It was time for the final thrust.

But something happened to save the life,
Of those whom in God placed their trust.
Jesus had described to us,
The meaning of love he would show.

And it was expressed quite fully when,
Our heroes said, "Let's roll."
The last footprint had missed its mark,
When it was forced into a field.

Shanksville is this footprints name,
It became the hearts full shield.
I hope that none are wandering lost,
I'm sure the Light was there.

I know they're all in Heaven now,
Knowing how grateful we are.
For the sacrifices they have made,
They gave their lives for us.

No greater love hath brother or sister,
Than in those footprints in the dust.

In remembrance of 9-11

CROSSFIRE
Time has slipped away so quickly,
It's almost been a year.
A year since terror paid a call,
Introducing us to fear.

The spirits of those who were taken away,
Still live within our hearts.
Innocent souls caught in the cross,
Of a fire they didn't start.

And as this anniversary approaches,
Do they hear our prayers and cries?
Do they realize at all,
A piece of us has also died?
And of this fight that we now fight,
Will we ever see an end?

And if it comes are we to say,
It was a fight that we could win?
