Into the
dark of night and into the sky
reddened by angry vicious
flames, they do what the rest of
us don't...they head towards the
fire... and they are our brave
firefighters.

Sometimes barely finishing a
meal and sometimes not eating a
meal...they jump at the sound of
the alarm and head for the fire
trucks... and some never return
from the scene of the fire.

Some are Moms, some are Dads...
some brothers...some sisters...
but all are brave.
They go to work each day not
knowing what they will have to
face... their deadlines are
counted by lives saved...

They work until they are bone
tired... yet they keep on
working...

They are people who believe in
laying down their life for their
fellowman...

These brave men and women we
salute...
With arms reached out to help...
they arrive on the scene...

These brave men and women we
salute...
Let us thank God above for these
people who decided to dedicate
their lives in the service of
others...

And always remember as we drive
home...someone is at home
waiting for them too.

Thank them when you see them...
and tonight say a prayer that
they all return home safely.
For they are our heroes too.
These brave men and women of the
Fire Department
